I can buy feeder to feed by monster fish, just cannot do it to my cull. When I breed I tend to keep all turn out all no good may as well don't breed.

Maybe just for fun, and tikam some eggs and throw away the rest? Then you won't be keeping that much. Haha...then the rest giveaway, or cull and release to the mother nature.

HNLim wrote:You have to be a very skillful breeder to successfully cross breed the different varieties. You may get good orandas in the 2nd to 3rd generation but not ryukin as they tends to develop traces of wen development.
Bro HNLim, then I guess have to learn from high hand hobbyists like you liao, any tips to share? I'm not full time breeder, just seasonal breeder.

Today they're trying to mate, but due to family commitments and fries I have now, I don't want to mess up my schedule, taken out the female Oranda into another bowl, as the horny Ryukin is trying to make Oranda mother breed his future generations again. That Ryukin very strong and productive! :shifty:

Its the raining monsoon now...everyday raining. The water become cold n the temperature inside tank sometime fluctuated too much from cold to hot hot to cold. This can trigger the goldfish to spawn in the tank.My tank of oranda do have spawn weekly.I just let them do their activity. They will eat the egss that lay above the tank floor. Good for them the eggs have high protein inside...free good stuff  Problem is need to do more water change after the spawn ended

Yeah, that's what I'm going to avoid for now, too busy. And I need to get a long enough water hose to replace my manual routine now, I used to siphon out using shorter hose with water changer, and fill in water into tank and sump with buckets of water! Very tiring, need to change to to hose connecting to tap water. Else I would not have time for other things, haha...

You can alway install the drip method system...no need water change everyday. Now im keeping my tank in my standard size 4footer tank. Everynite i do water change 30percent of fresh water. Routine everyday now for me. Later will make a new setup with drip system.
