Thanks AdamC, i used to have a lot of Thai breeders' contact in the past.
i visit them regularly in Thailand when i was promoting goldfish back then.

Their price don't come cheap. i would seriously consider of bagging home if it is at local store and within the price i have on mind.
But to purposely, arrange to fly in and pay a premium, i would have to pass.

i'm not sure, if anyone share the same sentiment about this fish.
To me, this fish is my "almost idea" ranchu form.

i have removed the hand to highlight the "ideal curve" (personal preference).
Thick peduncle
Perfect tail fin
Potential headgrowth

Both fish are nice fish to start with.

I am not in the position to comment negative especially the fish belong to a commerial guy trying to sell.
Hahahaha

Personal liking, i prefer small tail fin.
First photo, fin is slightly big for my liking.

For second photo, the tail set (peduncle) is slightly too straight. I like it at an angle.

Hmmm someone bought my favourite fish already. Cry cry cry (smile)

These are the new hybrids called "bulldog".
I think Ranchus with straight peduncles tend to be fast swimmers and are likely to grow much larger, up to 12" in a pond.

Agree, the straight peduncle fish can usually grow bigger. (smile)

i was away (in Germany) for some time, only get to come back about 3 years ago.
And i was busy working on my personally stuff.

Only in the recent year, i picked up a pair of dragon-eyes.
Kept for slightly over a year, unfortunately, due to careless, they were gone just a few weeks back.

Now, i am eyeing for some nice goldfish.

In the early days, i kept side view goldfish in a 4ft x 2.5ft tank in-door.
and i have trickle filtration system.

And one 1 meter tub with overflow system for top view goldfish.
(i usually limit to 3 fish)
