Re: Red vein on tail mean?
Hi Ja777ck,
This is not a good sign and sometime, it can be hard to get rid.
It is due to prolong keeping in bad water condition.
i believe there are some old thread on it, do search this forum a bit.
As i am not expert in medication, i have limited knowledge to share. Sorry.
Maybe someone can help.

Re: Red vein on tail mean?
I think i may be able to help. It is most likely nitrite poisoning. It should get better if you do regular water changes. It could also be hemorrhagic septicemia. It is less likely for it to be hemorrhagic septicemia. If it is septicemia, his body will turn red also. septicemia is harder to cure. I had some fish that had septicemia and i had to take them to a vet to get ceftazidime. Most pet store antibiotics such as tetracycline and triple sulfa are overused, so septicemia has became resistant to them. If your fish has septicemia, he needs 5 ceftazidime shots. One every 3 days for 15 days. To get ceftazidime, you need to take your fish to a vet and they will weigh the fish and you also need a prescription from the vet. Could you post pictures?
Re: Red vein on tail mean?
sometime you will also see this blood vien on tail during WC..maybe chlorine is the cause of it too. But it will be gone after a while or after sufficient anti-chlorine is dosed to the tank water.
