momotaro bacteria house & food for lionchu

hi laulanchu
can check with u is it ok to use momotaro bacteria house in my canister for my lionchu?
heard its quite expensive as i recently went to petmart ,they selling 10kg for $330
any place got sell 1kg?
can i feed lionchu with other fish pellet like pellet for arowana ? :D

Should be fine.

The bacteria house is available in many LFS.

if you're not keeping very expensive goldfish, dymax biorod would be good enough. 12 sticks (about the same size as momotaro) costs $9. :D

Hmmm.........

Why dont you keep very expensive ranchus.,i.e. TVR. I understand from many posts here that you dont even need fancy filtrations. Just sponge air filter would do just fine. U can save on all the other expensive stuff and use it on expensive fish. Just a thought.

hi all
if i use momotaro in tub for tvr is it good if i put in nett bag and into the tub or must i use ohf?
another question is ohf good for tvr or just airstone?
can advise?

Momotaro originated from bakki shower concept. Not sure of the effectiveness when use in other type of filtration.

Keeping fish without filtration can only be compensated by very regular water change, if one can take the task. On top of that no. of fish and feeding got to be controlled. I always like to illustrate upkeeping a hobby running for long is like a balancing beam. One side you have the passion and on the other you have the task. If passion out weigh the task the hobby would be sustainable, if it is the other way round the hobby would soon end.

I plan to use momotaro as they say its quite effective, but not
Sure how effective it is till I tried out with ohf.
Another reason is my work tend to travel overseas, I cant do
Wc always.
Hope it helps in filtration for my TVR
