Y618 China Ryukin

Post by Wilgan » Wed Jul 07, 2010 1:51 pm

Hi all.

I purchased 2x big China Ryukin at Yishun 618 on Monday. It is kind of on impulse as i like one of the red and white Ryukin very much. The other are more of a companion and also due to buy 2 cheaper (heehee). Are their China Ryukin of good quality? They are still there as i'm still preparing the water in my FGT since monday. Will be collecting this weekend though. Anyone that happen to drop by Y618 can help to give some comments? They are partition in the same tank from the rest of the big Ryukin.

Was told both should be females too. In general, is there a difference in getting male or female in terms of pricing? Understand males are more desirable as females tend to lay eggs which will dirty the water. Should i get males instead or 1 male 1 female? But actually, does male or female look better in general?

Can I keep TVR with Ryukin too? Maybe getting 2x TVR once the China Ryukins stabilised in my FGT.

Newbie :blink

Will take a look if happen to drop by.

Better not to mix TVR with ryukin as requirements like water depth are different.

Thanks pal! Notice you stay in the north too! Maybe can go goldfish hunting one of these days. Will be good to have expert around. :blink

BTW, my depth is about 2 feet. More suited to Ryukin or TVR?

Have collected my first 2 Ryukin this evening. :D Taken some pics but may not be very well taken. Any comments? They are about 12-13cm from head to tail.

Need to really see the side view profile to comment. I see that the head is big to my liking and the hump is not distinct.
