I am not a great fan of ryukin, but cannot help to breed this variety also to gain some experience. This is one of my newest offspring. White head red body - an old man wearing royal coat, the symbol of wisdom and prosperity, for those who believe :)

What an interesting way to describe the coloration........smile

In your breeding program, are you able to reduce the head size.

My take is smaller head size for ryukin is important factor.

That kind of description I got first time I keep goldfish, and cannot let it go from my mind since :)

Some of mine has smaller head, but seems that the correct description is not to reduce the head size, but to increase the body size. So the ones with larger body size in the batch will have the appearance to have smaller head size :) Haha, just a different way of describing the same thing, I guess.

Smaller head will make the body (hump) looks more stout (larger)!.............smile
