When using powerhead, it is not only the projection of water that is the problem, but also the water being 'suck' into the powerhead. When water is suck into the powerhead, current is created within the water.

i use a lot of powerhead too, as long as it is not those 'special' care goldfish like tosakin, butterfly, japanese ranchu, etc... ... i think it is ok to use. :)

Yes, agreed, both inlet and outlet current will post problem for those "special" finage fish. It may even impact on TVR finnage and swimming if not design properly.
